QUESTION:
Is it ok to let my ferret run around my apartment like a kitten?

ANSWER:
Just give him small areas at a time, so he can find the litter box to go back to, you can use several litter boxes or leave the door to his cage open so he can go back in.

Don't forget he is small and will need reminding to go to the litterbox, so put him back in every 20-30 mins. Make sure he uses the litterbox BEFORE you let him out of the cage.

I have a special room in my home for the ferrets to play that way I know they are safe.
